9:00     Opening, welcoming festival participants by István Komlósi, dean of the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences and Environmental Management

9:05     Introduction of agricultural water management challenges in Hungary by Elza Kovács, associate professor, Department of Water and Environmental Management

9:20     Presentation of the project and V4-group given by Andrzej Strużyński, University of Agriculture, Krakow

9:50     Lecture by Csaba Bozán representing the National Agricultural Research and Innovation Centre (NAIK), Research Department of Irrigation and Water Management (ÖVKI) with expertise in agricultural water management, entitled “Water related phenomena in Hungary – Lessons for risk management

10:35   Lecture by Gyula Szabó representing the company KITE Zrt., with expertise in irrigation entitled “Irrigation in Hungary – Towards to precision irrigation, innovations by the company KITE ZRT.

11:20   Panel discussion on sustainable water management in the agriculture among project partners’ representatives, experts and students

11:50   Break

12:00   Solving of the photo contest with short presentations of the winner students

12:30   Closing of the festival

12:45   Lunch

About  Visegrad Festivals:

  • Festivals are directed mostly to young people (high school graduate, 1st year students).

    All lecturers and volunteers will have accommodation and meals provided.

    Travel costs for Lecturers and volunteers for 1 car will be granted.

    All information, promotional materials and prizes of photo competitions will be supported by AU in Kraków

    One local experts for CZ, SK and UA partners will be granted.

    There are some funds for paralell translation of 1 or 2 lectures (250 Euro).

    – opening of the Visegrad Festival,

    – Visegrad Gruop introduction lecture,

    – expert lecture about Water Management in the country of the festival,

    – discussion,

    – Solving a photo contest with awarding prizes!

The aim of the project

The aim of the project is to integrate V4 community around new methods of integrated and sustainably managed reservoirs and watersheds. Project is dedicated to young people (students and secondary school pupils). At present water reservoirs become important objects of water management but also rural development. The group of V4 and Ukraine partners will compare methods of water management and defense employed not only in the Visegrad countries but also in Ukraine and Western Europe. Then the extended water management in V4 will be discussed and the outcomes will be presented to university and secondary school students. The young people will also have their say in the close to nature water management, prevention of floods and droughts as well as increasing security of water systems.
